Coolsaet and Gillis Land On Podium In 10k

Reid Coolsaet and Eric Gillis were training buddies with Guelph’s Speed River Track and Field Club. Wednesday night at the Canadian track and field championships, they were podium buddies.
In the final event of the first leg of the four-day national championship meet at Varsity Stadium, Coolsaet and Gillis were officially second and third respectively in the men’s 10,000 metres.

Genevieve Lalonde gave her hometown fans something to cheer about in the first full day of competition at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick. Buchanan Moves Into Top Five In Canadian History

Dana Buchanan continued her outstanding New Balance Euro Tour adding a 3000 metre steeplechase life time best to go with her 1500 metre life time best set last week. Buchanan finished fifth at the Karlstad Grand Prix in Karlstad, Sweden in a performance of 10 minutes 13.80 seconds. Buchanan's time moves her into first in Canada this year and also ranks her fifth in Canadian history in the event. Reid Coolsaet continued his winning ways Sunday at the Acura 10 Miler in Toronto. Coolsaet won his third consecutive race capturing the 10 mile race by over 70 seconds over Tolassa Dadi. After running with a lead pack of four for most of the first half Coolsaet moved away quickly in the second half building a 25 second lead by the 13 kilometre mark, before blowing away the field in the final three kilometres to capture the win in a time of 48 minutes and 24 seconds.
